Garmin nüvi® 205W GPS
The nüvi® 205W is a GPS device that 4.8″ W x 2.9″ H x .8″ D (12.2 x 7.4 x 2.0 cm), has a 3.81″ W x 2.25″ H (9.7 x 5.7 cm); 4.3″ diagonal (10.9 cm) touchscreen display size with 480 x 272 pixels resolution. The display on this unit is a WQVGA colour TFT screen with white backlight. The 205W weighs 6.1 ounces (172.93 g) and is powered by a removable rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides users up to 4 hours operation time.
The Garmin nüvi® 205W is not waterproof. However, it does have high-sensitivity receiver and is available with a RoHS version rating. The Garmin nüvi 205W also comes with features like basemap, preloaded maps (with functionality that allows users to add maps), internal solid state built-in memory, accepts microSD™ card (not included) and provides up to 1000 waypoints / favorites / locations memory. The 205W also features auto re-route (fast off-route and detour recalculation), Choice of route setup (faster time, shorter distance, off road), Route avoidance (avoid highways, tolls etc.), is MSN® Direct compatible, FM traffic compatible, has ecoRoute™ (calculates a more fuel-efficient route), has Qwerty or ABC keyboard (choose keyboard lauserst), Custom POIs (ability to add additional points of interest), is Garmin Garage™ vehicles compatible (to download car-shaped icons to device) and Garmin Garage™ voices compatible (to download custom voices to device), speed limit indicator (displays speed limit for most major roads), has Photo navigation (navigate to geotagged photos), World travel clock, currency and unit converter, calculator, Picture viewer, and supports Garmin Lock™ (anti-theft feature). The Garmin nüvi® 205W is a USB mass storage device that is compatible with Windows® 2000 or later and Mac® OS X 10.4 or later. The Garmin nüvi® 205W does not support speaks street names, has no voice-activated navigation, no lane assist, no 3-D building view (displays buildings in 3-D) no auto sort multiple destinations, no Bluetooth® wireless technology, no Where Am I? feature that finds closest hospitals, police & gas stations, nearest address & intersection, does not support MP3 player, Audio book player, FM transmitter, headphone jack/audio line-out and does not comes with remote control. The Garmin nüvi® 205W is a portable and wide personal travel assistant that features turn-by-turn directions and optional MSN® Direct services to get users there on time and keep them informed. It’s packed with millions of destinations and maps for the contiguous U.S., Canada or regional sections of Europe. The Garmin nüvi 205W features a widescreen display that allows users to view map detail, driving directions, photos and more in sunlight-readable, 4.3-inch display that can be read from any direction. The nüvi 205W comes preloaded with City Navigator® NT map data for the contiguous U.S., Canada or one European region or country (users click versions tab to view all). By touching the color screen to enter a destination, the Garmin nüvi 205W takes users there with turn-by-turn voice directions; 2-D maps and map redraw rates as they navigate. Its digital elevation maps show users shaded contours at higher zoom levels, giving users a big picture of the surrounding terrain. In addition, nüvi 205W accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets users set proximity alerts to warn users of upcoming POIs. With HotFix™ satellite prediction, nüvi calculates user’s position faster to get users there quicker. The Garmin nüvi 205W provide mobility with its slim design hat fits in user’s pocket or purse. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes it convenient for navigation by car or foot. With its “Where Am I?” emergency locator, users always know their location, right down to exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and fuel stations. The Garmin nüvi 205W includes many travel tools including JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. With photo navigation, users can download Google™ Panoramio™ pictures via Garmin Connect™ Photos website and navigate to them. The 205W is compatible with optional MSN® Direct content (subscription and receiver required) and Garmin Garage where users can download animated vehicles that show location on the map. It also comes with Garmin Lock™, an anti-theft feature; as well as optional plug-in microSD cards such as Garmin Travel Guides for detailed data on attractions.
