Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 – Black

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Black Digital Camera is digital camera with a resolution of up to 13.6-megapixel. Its features are Sony’s Double Anti-Blur solution, Face Detection technology and Intelligent Scene Recognition.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 Black Digital Camera is equipped with 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD display and Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens. It features 13.6-megapixel Super HAD CCD. By having such high resolution, it offers greater image definition and hence user can make big prints and high crops without losing detail. Whereas the Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design is a feature that allows more light to pass to each pixel, hence the sensitivity is increased and noise is reduced. In terms of lens, it is integrated with professional Carl Zeiss lens with 3x optical zoom (35mm-105mm). By having this lens, it can bring distant subjects closer for great outdoor, sports, and travel photos.
As for LCD display, the W300 has a 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD display. This display includes an anti-reflective coating to provide greater visibility as well. Besides, its body features compact and scratch-resistant titanium-coated. By having the titanium coating, it is approximately five times harder than anodized aluminum-treated camera bodies. Meanwhile the scratch-resistant feature provides greater protection from scratches.
The W300 is incorporated with Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology. Its Face Detection technology is able to recognize up to 8 faces. It can automatically control focus, exposure, white balance, and flash to help reveal faces in shadows, make skin tones look more natural, reduce red-eye, and eliminate harsh facial glare as well. As for Smile Shutter technology, it captures smiles the moment they happen–without the need to press the shutter. The mode can be set to capture when the subject laughs, smiles or even grins. Similar to Face Detection, Smile Shuttle is able to differentiate children and adults to set priority.
In terms of stabilization, the W300 employs Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization by having a built-in gyro sensor. It can compensate for shaky hands and minimize blur. The sensor detects camera movement and sends correcting signals to a stabilization lens. Therefore, user does not need to crop in on the shot to reduce blur. In order to help to reduce blur, the W300 is integrated with EXTRA High Sensitivity Mode (ISO64006). By having this feature, it can reduce blur when shooting indoors or at twilight, even without flash. Hence, great-looking images can be captured even in less-than-ideal lighting.
As an added feature, the W300 is incorporated with Intelligent Scene Recognition mode. This mode automatically detects 5 different types of scenes and selects the appropriate camera setting: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, and Twilight using a Tripod. There are two different modes in this mode: advanced and auto. For advanced mode, it takes two shots, one with the standard automatic settings and the other with optimized settings; whereas auto mode takes a single shot, using the camera’s intelligence to decide proper settings.
Being empowered by the exclusive Sony BIONZ high-speed processing engine, the W300 features Dynamic Range Optimization. This feature preserves image data in bright highlights and reveals more detail in shadows or backlit areas. It assures for great results even in difficult lighting conditions. Noise reduction is very important. Hence, the W300 is enhanced by having Variable Noise Reduction. By having this feature, it allows greater control over image characteristics with High, Low and Standard settings that let user selects the optimal setting depending on the scene and your personal tastes.
The W300 is equipped with MPEG movie VX Fine mode. This mode allows capturing of VGA (640 x 480) audio/video clips at a high frame rate (up to 30 frames per second). The length of the video is limited only by the capacity of the media.
As to ease user, it is integrated with Convenient Photo Modes. This mode is used to adjust quickly for specific shooting situations. User can choose from a variety of convenient photo modes. They are Auto, Program Auto, Manual Exposure, and Scene Selections such as Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Fireworks, Smile Shutter, Underwater, Landscape, Soft Snap, Snow, High Sensitivity, Extra High Sensitivity (only 3 megapixel image), Extra High Speed Burst (only 3 megapixel image) and Beach environments.
The W300 is equipped with a built-in slot that accepts optional Memory Stick Duo media or Memory Stick PRO Duo media. By having this feature, user can upload photos to PC conveniently. This high-capacity storage media is compatible with millions of devices worldwide. Additionally, it is incorporated with 15MB internal memory. Hence user can capture a limited number of shots with in-camera convenience. The shots can then be transfer to PC or optional Memory Stick Duo media, or Memory Stick PRO Duo easily. In terms of battery, it utilizes Lithium-ion NP-BG1 battery and BC-CSG Charger.
The W300 body measures approximately 94.3 x 59.0 x 26.8 mm in dimension. It weighs approximately 156 g without battery or 187g with battery and MSDuo card.
