AT&T will release Sony Ericsson Vivaz

This is just in, it has been confirmed that AT&T will be the distributor of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. If you remember, some time earlier this year it was rumored that AT&T might be the service provider for Vivaz as it was spotted at FCC with details suggesting that the phone might be AT&T branded.

This time, the reports are confirmed but still not official. Sources claim to have gained access to a current image file of the Vivaz with AT&T references branded on the phone. Furthermore, it has been noticed that the phone features Maps, Family Map or Navigator which are from AT&T.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz comes with an 8.1-megapixel camera with 720-pixel video recording capabilities. Since it was first unveiled, the phone is excitingly being awaited by ardent fans of the brand and reviewers as well. The phone works on the 5th Edition of Symbian S60. Other features include Wi-Fi, GPS and DLNA media sharing and not forgetting, the 640×360 touchscreen.

Sony unveils new Alpha 390 DSLR camera

Sony is one brand that keeps striving and striving, they have releases in almost all electronic markets including netbooks, cell phones and media players. This time, the brand excitingly announced their new digital camera, a DSLR, the Alpha 390.

The new DSLR camera features a 14.2-megapixel CCD image sensor and is said to suit those who have just entered the DSLR group of photographers. Come to think of it, it seems almost all DSLRs launched by Sony are for amateur photographers. More likely it will really appeal to those just entering the DSLR or wanting to try their hands in DSLR photography as the camera is light and easy to hold.

This new Sony DSLR comes with a 2.7-inch LCD display that can be adjusted to different angles depending on the user’s choice. It also comes with SteadyShot which is currently present in Sony Alpha DSLRs and which also differ Sony’s Alpha DSLRs from Nikon or Canon entry-level DSLRs. SteadyShot avoids blurring pictures even in situation when the camera is shaking or the object is moving. It also comes with an HDMI port. The Sony Alpha 390 DSLR camera will be released in July at the price of around $799.

Canon is ‘Japan’s Best Global Brands 2010’

Canon has been named ‘Japan’s Best Global Brands 2010’ by Interbrand. Ranking fourth on this list, this brand is a world-leader in imaging solutions. Though this doesn’t come as surprising news to many, Canon is occupying this spot not for the first time.

Every year, Interbrand will choose the best Japanese brands and rank them in their annual ranking of the 30 most successful Japanese brands, also known as ‘Japan’s Best Global Brands 2010′. Brands that are qualified are all Japanese-made and these brands should be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Not forgetting the fact that these brands listed should have a well-known public profile globally. Canon definitely fits the bill.

Interbrand has said that Canon managed to reach this position due to the fact that the company has created and sustained a strong worldwide performance in today’s competitive market. Furthermore, Canon’s brand value stands intact from last year at USD10.469 billion.

Sony Ericsson Yeno, first full touch walkman phone

This was bound to happen since technology is evolving so fast. Sony Ericsson has finally unveiled their new Walkman phone which is certainly a first for them as this device is a touch-based Walkman phone.

As we all know, Sony Ericsson’s Walkman phone are exceptional when it comes to music. Aside from really good music features, this phone also comes with an innovative four-corner touch UI. What’s more, the Yeno phone is able to detect the music pulse of its users.

Aside from its music and touchscreen features, the phone also comes with a 2-megapixel camera and a 4X digital zoom. It features FM radio, 16GB expandable memory and a 2.6 inch display.

The Sony Ericsson Yeno will be released in a number of colors including black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red, silver, yellow and white. Sony Ericsson has yet to announce the date of release or price of the Yeno.

Motorola recently announced the new ES400 PDA that works on Windows. This device features a full QWERTY keyboard. It comes with a 3-inch VGA touch screen. It features WiFi, GSM, HSPA as well as CDMA EVDO RevA connections.

The phone offers photo annotation and the scanning of bars can also be done on this phone. Battery life is long enough to sustain a day’s of work. For those who want to purchase a battery with a longer life can do so.

It also features Motorola’s push-to-talk over VoIP. It also comes with a built-in biometric fingerprint reader which Motorola input in this phone for security reasons. The brand offers a number of applications that will help to manage the phone even better. The ES400 offers MEUI which helps to provide users with an enterprise-class customizable interface. MEUI also allows the device to have several functions and applications including home screen-centric business applications, direct access to applications, simplified administration screen dialpad calls and Device Management that can be accessed.

Nintendo 3DS rocks at E3 Show

Seems like Nintendo hit on the right nerves of their fans at the E3 show. Apparently, there were long lines of fans waiting to try out the new Nintendo 3DS. It’s a really exciting gaming console. The best thing is it’s a glass-free 3D game console. It comes with motion-sensing controllers and rich 3D-play. The console comes with a high-resolution screen that doesn’t need the use of 3D glasses. This Nintendo game console comes with two cameras.

The 3DS comes with a 3.5-inch 3D screen and a 3-inch touch screen below the 3D screen. This handheld gaming device comes with a slider on the side of the console just to control the 3D effect on the games played. It can also change the 3D effect to 2D.

Nintendo will soon announce the 3DS’ release date and price. Rumors suggest that it will be released before March next year. Let’s just wait and see.

Sony’s new sub-compact camera line set for July release

This coming July, Sony will release a new line of cameras which is set to cater for the point-and-shooter enthusiasts who fancy pro quality output coming from a compact type of camera. The Sony’s camera line includes the Alpha NEX-5 that comes with a price of $650 and also NEX-3 with a price of $550.

Both cameras are designed with inter-changeable lenses which are similar to the digital SLRs. Sony claims that these cameras are the smallest and lightest in the world which we will know once it releases. It has the similarity in terms of size and feel to the micro four-thirds format with other products by Olympus and Panasonic but the NEX models do not use a smaller image sensor than SLRs. They are using an APS-C size sensor to improve on its image quality.

The NEX models comes with available lenses which include a 16mm f 2.8 with a price of $250, 18mm-55mm f3.5-f 5.6 ($300) wide-to medium telephoto and also 18mm-200mm f 3.5-f 6.3 ($800). According to Sony, the Alpha SLR lenses works well with an adapter and comes with an adjustable focus while shooting high-definition video.

Canon releases new scanner, the CanoScan 9000F

Modern technology has taken over the old-fashioned type for the post-processing of film with the introduction of the CanoScan 9000F scanner released by Canon recently. It comes with features that enable users to do post-processing of pictures using a computer and uploading them on the website.

Apart from that, it also enables you to digitize both prints and film to a more suitable, smaller and usable file such as image or PDFs. The CanoScan 9000F is designed with 9600-by-9600dpi scans in 48-bit color from its CCD sensor, along with the capability of loading using paper, mounted 35mm slides and strips of film whether in formats of 35mm or 120mm. Besides that, it also uses an infrared sensor in order for removing dust and scratches from scans.

A few years back, a decent film-scanner is an expensive device to purchase, but it is no longer expensive thanks to Canon CanoScan 9000F model which comes with an affordable price set at $250 and the product will be available this month.

More Motorola Shadow Android phone leak

Don’t we all love a small leak now and then? Information have leaked online regarding the detail information of the new smartphone Motorola is working on, known as the Motorola Shadow MB810 which is the next Android phone from the manufacturer.

Way back in 2009, Motorola was working on the Shadow, but as of today it is believed that the Shadow MB810 will be the next replacement for Motorola’s current flagship cellular phone also known as the Milestone. Rumor has also has been cropping up recently mentioning that Motorola has given the Wi-Fi Alliance a device labeled as the MB810 to be certified.

According to Phandroid, the Motorola Shadow Android phone comes with a 4.3-inch screen display, along with version 2.2 of Android and an eight mega-pixel camera. Besides that, the smartphone has the capability to handle a full high definition video playback and able to capture 720p video using the phone’s built-in camera. Similar with the Nokia N8 which was recently announced, the Shadow will also include features such as a miniature HDMI output for connectivity with HD television allowing user to view image, video or compatible content on a larger screen.

Toshiba to release 3D laptop in Japan

Toshiba has announced that they will be releasing their new Dynabook TX/98MBL laptop first in Japan. This device from Toshiba is said to be the first consumer 3D laptop that will make use of the active shutter 3D technology. Unfortunately for those elsewhere, they will have wait for a while as Toshiba has decided to release this laptop only in Japan, for now.

The Dynabook TX/98MBL laptop comes with a 15.6-inch LCD display with LED backlighting. It also has a Blu-ray Disc drive. It comes with a 640GB hard drive and 4GB of RAM. It works on the Core i7-740QM processor and NVIDIA 3D Vision software. It is powered by GeForce GTS 350M hardware (1GB RAM).

Since this is a 3D laptop, a pair of active shutter glasses is among the accessories that consumers will get when they purchase the laptop. The Toshiba Dynabook TX/98MBL laptop will be released in Japan by the end of July this year.
