This is the question on our mind right now; is Toshiba really making another Windows Phone 7 handset. Some time back, Toshiba launched its TG01 smartphone into the market. The latter was the first device to feature the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. It wasn’t long when another device, again from Toshiba, stole its limelight thus making it a short lifespan device. Now rumor has it that Toshiba might soon release another Windows-based phone that will replace the TG02 in the market.
This rumor was started after the Toshiba unannounced product was spotted at the Global Certification Forum with quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (800/850/2100 MHz). The TG03, as it is called, was first spotted in a roadmap leak in 2009 and back then, it was assumed that this is a Windows Mobile phone. With its recent appearance at the GCF, experts are suggesting that the TG03 might just have been changed into a Windows Phone 7 handset. We know this is no big deal as there are many other brands coming out with phones working on the Windows Phone 7, but this is the first device for Toshiba that will be working on the Windows Phone 7.

With the Nokia N8 expecting to release soon, more and more info are being dug up on this device. Apparently the Nokia N8 is more affordable than the iPhone 4 is. It’s definitely great news for those eagerly awaiting this device and more importantly, for those who couldn’t afford the iPhone 4. Then again, there are many other phones that are way cheaper than the Apple iPhone 4, but that’s not the point here. With the Nokia N8 being cheaper than Apple’s iPhone4, can the Nokia phone compete with it?
When Nokia announced a new line of smartphones, it was the N8 smartphone model that gained more attention as Nokia claimed this phone is a new entry to enterprise mobility. We all know that Nokia has to fight hard against Android and Apple so in the N8, Nokia has incorporated a few interesting technologies with different capabilities in an attempt to secure a top spot in the market.
Nokia can definitely achieve something else with its 12-megapixel camera when compared to what the iPhone 4 has to offer on the same line. But, experts claim this is not enough for the N8 to directly compete with Apple’s iPhone 4. Seems like there might be a performance problem that is putting Nokia behind Apple yet again, but let’s wait until the Nokia N8 to release to officially decide on the winner of this battle.

Sigma showed off its new SD1 DSLR at the Photokina event in Germany. The revelation garnered both positive and negative feedback. The camera comes with no video recording option, which is very disappointing considering the fact that even the cheapest cameras support video recording. Sigma packed the SD1 DSLR in a nice weatherproof magnesium alloy body.
The Sigma SD1 comes with 46-megapixel 24×16mm APS-C sensor and is powered by dual TRUE II image processors. With this type of sensor, the camera sounds about right for those looking to take professional photos, just like the ones we see in National Geography magazines. There’s a 3.0-inch TFT LCD color screen (460k-dot resolution).
The camera is designed in a strong magnesium alloy casing with O-ring sealings that helps to prevent dust and water from getting in. It comes with an 11-point autofocus system. The camera uses CompactFlash card. For now, Sigma has yet to announce the release date and price of the SD1 DSLR camera.
