Motorola Milestone/Droid will get the new Android 2.1

Whatever happened to reading news on the proper channel and media? Facebook happened. Mobile manufacturer Motorola chose Facebook (their official page) to announce that they will be soon releasing an over-the-air software update to Android 2.1 OS soon. This will be for their Android phones such as the Motorola Milestone/Droid and after the update, the device will be slightly different as it will be afterwards running on the same platform as the one found on Google’s Nexus One. Motorola Droid/Milestone phone owners can expect the update anytime this week. The update will also enable multi-touch capabilities on the Milestone/Droid phone.
Together with the update’s announcement, Motorola made sure to apologise for the delay of this update to its fans on Facebook by stating, “We’re happy to relay the 2.1 upgrade to DROID will start to roll out this week, and we will have more information to share on other device upgrades later this week as well.” Stay tune to know about the Android 2.1 OS update soon and find out what are the features that will be on the phone after the update.
