Multi-touch BlackBerry OS 6.0 might release soon

Some time back, we announced that RIM is quietly creating a new Blackberry OS; turns out the rumors were true after someone leaked a couple of pictures of the new BlackBerry OS 6.0. The new OS is, of course, multi-touch. From the leaked shots, experts are making out that the new OS might be multi-touch with pinch-to-zoom and other gestures which include the photo viewer and the browser. The new operating system from Blackberry also seems to have fast scrolling and a tap-to-hold context menu.
Renowned tech site, BGR, claims that the home screen button is a little similar to the iPhone’s. Also similar to Apple’s are the music and photo applications such as the photo viewer features a fast-loading set of thumbnails and control layer that can be hidden as soon as the screen is tapped. Also, the audio player features a Cover Flow-like navigator.
It also seems to have the same buttons as found on Blackberry’s Storm2. With the new Blackberry OS, the phone’s user can switch between pages of application icons. Overall, the new multi-touch BlackBerry OS 6.0 seems to be cleaner and better than the previous operating system. Let’s hope it lives up to its expectations when it releases.
