Nikon to release D90’s successor soon?

This is the question that’s been rounding the online world since last week. For quite some time now, there have been rumors of a possible successor to the Nikon’s D90 but since nothing was confirmed, the rumor died down on its own. Now rumors for the Nikon D90 replacement are doing the rounds again and this time, more details have been out to support this rumor.
For starters, retailers have been asked by Nikon to return all the D90 demo units. Another piece of news suggests that Photokina will unveil the new replacement for the SB-600 flash at their show soon. No other details based on the show were released.
The Nikon D90’s new replacement is rumored to be named D8000 and it might come with a 12-megapixel sensor and might feature 1080p video recording. As of now, Nikon has not official commented on whether or not a replacement for the D90 exists. We’ll just have to wait and see.
