Samsung i8520/Halo is now Samsung I8520 Beam

Remember the rumored Samsung Android phone? The one that was supposed to come with an 8-megapixel camera, Super AMOLED screen and a PROJECTOR! Even the phone’s name was given numerous tries from Halo to i8520 but all failed and now the phone officially has a name, I8520 Beam. This phone will run on Android 2.1 and again, this phone has a built-in projector. We can’t still get over how cool that is. Then, it also has a 3.7-inch SUPER AMOLED screen and we all know that AMOLED will be featured in many of Samsung’s products this year. The 8-megapixel camera comes with flash and auto-focus. It also has another much simpler camera on the front of the phone. It offers tri-band HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity and quad-band EDGE/GPRS.
As far as memory capacity is concerned, it will come with at least 2GB (4GB ROM / 3GB RAM + 16GB MoviNAND) and more memory capacity is made possible with its MicroSD slot on the phone. Other features are 720p video playing support, A-GPS, WiFi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 connectivity, DLNA, Specialized Projector UI and hybrid Widgets.
It will come with a battery (1,800mAh battery) life of approximately 470 minutes and up to 530 hours on standby time. This Samsung phone measures 123 x 59.8 x 14.9 mm. The Samsung Halo is supposed to be released by September 2010. Let’s see if having a projector in your phone would become a trend by the end of this year.
