Some time back at the PMA event, we mentioned the Sigma 17-50mm F/2.8 EX DC OS HSM zoom lens and now the company has just announced the price and availability date of their new lens. Based on a press release, the lens has been released to be purchased at the price of $980.

The new lens has been specially designed for cameras with APS-C sensors and it also comes with Sigma’s FLD glass. It comes with an OS that has up to four extra stops of hand-held stablization.

The Canon-mount version of the lens is the one that is in the market right now and it is set to work with Canon DSLRs. Buyers and owners of other DSLR brands such as Nikon, Sigma, Sony and Pentax will soon be able to purchase their camera’s version in the market. For now, only the Canon-mount version is out and the rest will be out in the coming weeks from now.
